Health Education England working across the North West

The former North Western and Mersey Deaneries are integrating and have become Health Education England working across the North West.

We have 3 main areas within HEE North West Cheshire & Merseyside (including Liverpool across to the Wirral), Lancashire & South Cumbria (including Blackpool, Preston and Lancaster into the Lake District) and Greater Manchester (which covers the cities of Manchester and Salford and other surrounding towns, each with its own distinctive character).

The North West is a large and varied region so we can offer programmes in vibrant, busy cities, quieter rural areas, or bustling seaside resorts – there is something for everyone here.

We delivered the first formal extended training pilot, the first lead employer arrangement for GPSTs and pride ourselves on being at the forefront of training. Each locality GPST programme is distinctive in the range of posts offered and delivery of structured release teaching programmes. The majority of our ‘graduates’ stay in the North West as independent practitioners as there are interesting and challenging opportunities for partnership, salaried posts, fellowship and portfolio work in all areas.

We’d love to welcome you to HEE working across the North West – Developing People for Health and Healthcare. You can find out more by visiting our website using the link below.
